L’Informale vede in prima linea l’importanza del colore, non in quanto cromia ma in quanto modalità di stesura dell’elemento pittorico, indipendentemente  dalla presenza o meno di un soggetto.

Scatizzi utilizza il colore ad olio tramutandolo in elemento tridimensionale, l’aggetto e le fenditure divengono i soggetti dei dipinti.

Questi “soggetti” alle volte mantengono una parvenza di elemento solido all’interno dello spazio, perciò troviamo ancora, come in questo caso, un appiglio ad una visione tradizionale dell’arte (quindi su piani) anche se essa è ormai perduta.

Il fatto che poi Scatizzi decida spesso di intitolare opere informali di questo tipo “Natura” o simili, è perché il colore ed i soggetti, sebbene abbiano perso una vera e propria forma, rientrano comunque all’interno di una dimensione generale di “natura” in quanto elemento del creato perciò “il tutto”.

L’informale per Scatizzi però è anche un modo per manifestare la propria emotività attraverso il colore che diviene per lui il massimo elemento espressivo.

Informal art places colour at the forefront, not as a chromatic element but as a means of applying the pictorial element, regardless of whether or not a subject is present.

Scatizzi uses oil paint, transforming it into a three-dimensional element; the protrusions and crevices become the subjects of the paintings.

These ‘subjects’ sometimes retain the appearance of a solid element within the space; thus, as in this case, we still find a link to a traditional conception of art (i.e. on planes), even though this has now been lost.

The fact that Scatizzi often chooses to title informal works of this kind ‘Nature’ or similar is because the colour and the subjects, although they have lost any distinct form, still fall within a general dimension of ‘nature’ as elements of creation and therefore ‘the whole’.

For Scatizzi, however, the Informel is also a way of expressing his own emotions through colour, which becomes for him the ultimate means of expression.
