La rosa è un fiore particolare che ha ammaliato arte e letteratura dalla notte dei tempi.

Da sempre ha affascinato per il suo dualismo, la bellezza ed il profumo più ipnotico si uniscono all’anima aggressiva ed imprevedibile data dalle spine che pungono o graffiano inaspettatamente.

Molti vi hanno trovato una affinità con l’universo femminile, arrivando a divinità e figure femminili religiose.

Perfino la Madonna ne ha trovato un riferimento ma data la sua naturale purezza ed essendo priva della malizia trova il suo corrispettivo nella “peonia” definita appunto: la rosa senza spine.

Attualmente è uno dei fiori più regalati al mondo perché riesce ad abbracciare attraverso le sue numerosissime colorazioni e tipologie ogni genere di festività.

Le proprietà cosmetiche e curative della rosa sono già conosciute in epoca medievale, si narra che il filosofo e medico Avicenna abbia prodotto il primo olio essenziale di rosa nell’XI secolo.

Nella seconda metà dell’Ottocento la rosa conoscerà l’inizio di una vera e propria moda che continua ancora oggi.

The rose is a special flower that has captivated art and literature since the dawn of time.

It has always fascinated for its dualism, the most hypnotic beauty and scent combined with the aggressive and unpredictable soul given by the thorns that sting or scratch unexpectedly.

Many have found in it an affinity with the feminine universe, reaching out to gods and religious female figures.

Even the Madonna has found a reference to it, but given its natural purity and lack of malice, it finds its counterpart in the ‘peony’, defined as the thornless rose.

Today, it is one of the most popular flowers in the world because it can embrace all kinds of festivities through its numerous colours and types.

The rose’s cosmetic and healing properties were already known in the Middle Ages; it is said that the philosopher and physician Avicenna produced the first rose essential oil in the 11th century.

In the second half of the 19th century, the rose experienced the beginning of a veritable fashion that continues to this day.
