Oggi, 17 febbraio, è la giornata internazionale del gatto e quale modo migliore di rendere omaggio al nostro caro felino domestico se non con un dipinto di Silvio Loffredo?!

Loffredo è come se nei suoi gatti avesse trovato una sorta di alter ego con cui poter dare espressioni a stati d’animo.

Troviamo perciò gatti indispettiti, sfuggenti, agguerriti, sfacciati, attoniti, ecc.

Questo gatto appare invece placido, appena smagrito, con i classici occhi loffrediani che paiono trasformarti in due fari.

Coda ed orecchie sempre attente all’insù, in un perfetto connubio tra sfrontatezza e ruffianeria.

Loffredo pare proprio divertirsi, sperimentando sulle varie consistenze dell’olio con cui crea colature, e le stesse vengono poi recuperate in un secondo momento con altri colori, all’insegna della sua nota ed instancabile sperimentazione.

Today, 17 February, is International Cat Day, and what better way to pay tribute to our beloved domestic felines than with a painting by Silvio Loffredo?!

It is as if Loffredo has found a sort of alter ego in his cats, through which he can express his moods.

We therefore find cats that are annoyed, elusive, aggressive, cheeky, astonished, etc.

This cat, on the other hand, appears placid, slightly emaciated, with the classic Loffredian eyes that seem to transform you into two headlights.

Its tail and ears are always alert, pointing upwards, in a perfect combination of cheekiness and flattery.

Loffredo seems to be having fun, experimenting with the various consistencies of the oil with which he creates drips, which are then recovered at a later stage with other colours, in keeping with his well-known and tireless experimentation.
